Back pain

BACK PAIN

Back pain is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States and for good reason. Back pain can have a huge effect on your overall well-being. People depend on their backs to sit, stand, even sleep comfortably. It is not enough to simply mask the symptoms of back pain. You need to directly address the source of your back pain and resolve it.

Chiropractic care is an effective and natural treatment to determine the root cause of your pain and provide relief. At Clover Spine & Joint Center, we are here to help the residents of Anaheim and the surrounding communities to feel themselves again and live a life free of back pain.

What Causes Back Pain?

Back pain can come on suddenly or it can occur for a number of years and continue to come and go. Back pain affects around 16 million adults in the United States. The causes of back pain include:

  • Muscle strains
  • Muscle sprains
  • Overuse injuries
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Herniated or bulging discs
  • Pregnancy
  • Previous injuries or trauma
  • Whiplash
  • Poor posture
  • Problems with spinal alignment

Due to the various causes of back pain, it can seem impossible to pinpoint which one of these issues is causing your back pain. Only a trained chiropractor can determine which one of these issues is causing your pain and determine how to fix the issue with the appropriate treatment plan.

Getting Help From a Chiropractor

Your chiropractor will ask a series of questions about the nature of your pain, take a medical history, and conduct a physical exam along with a few imaging tests. This will help us determine if your back pain is caused by an internal injury, such as herniated discs, or from a muscle strain or inflammation. We will then prescribe the appropriate treatment plan, which may include:

  • Spinal decompression for herniated discs or sciatica
  • Muscle stretches to reduce inflammation and promote mobility
  • Trigger point therapy, cold laser therapy, or ultrasound therapy
